My art is rooted in my lifelong connection to gardening.
There is an energy of flowers that keeps me engaged. I’m attracted to them as a singular, central subject but also within a broader context too. During a break from my own garden & studio, I found myself drawn to botanical gardens. This led me to explore them as subject matter for new work. Captivated by their scale and beauty, I aimed to translate the sensory experience of these gardens. Whether strolling the reflecting pools at twilight or standing in a field of a million roses in bloom, I wanted to convey the feeling of being immersed and fully present in the garden.
Gardens quiet the mind and waken the senses. I hope my paintings can have a similar impact.
